In addition you will learn about glass behavior in the kiln. With a special focus on 4 specific projects to sharpen your skills - the first steps toward more advanced projects! Advanced level artists are also welcomed. You will learn and practice basic techniques of transparent watercolor. You will become familiar with the concept of creating art (not copying nature). With a solid foundation of knowledge and technique, this more advanced class will spark your creativity and imagination to help you see what is possible when you begin to unlock the “artist within”. We encourage students to bring in their inspiration photos and create their own one-of-a-kind pieces, on average a student will complete up to 3 projects during this 4 week class. Join other artists as we explore the concepts of expressing the feeling of a subject and how NOT to paint “in the lines”. Learn to paint free, loose and FUN! Dave will share his philosophy, techniques, and theory of this expressive medium. We will work on landscape, seascape and cityscape. These pieces are perfect for your wall indoors or out. You will learn all the steps needed to create your piece from start to finish including designing your piece, color choices, cutting glass, gluing and grouting. You will create your own glass mosaic on a pre-cut wood board. Choose from a variety of wood shapes to make your own. Possible shapes include circles, squares, hearts, butterflies, palm trees, flowers and more.
