Workshops - Fall

@ 10:00am – 12:00pm $75.00 (includes all materials). This class is on December 10th. Acrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. December 11th $150.00 (includes all materials) Create your very own stunning heart paperweight! This workshop requires no previous experience. Students will pick out colors and create their own glass heart using traditional techniques under the instruction of Jason and Nicole McQuaid who have over 35 years of experience in glassblowing. All items will be available for pick up at the Old Town Artisan Studios’ reception desk 48 hours after the workshop. 4 students per time slot.        Instructors: Jason and Nicole McQuaid Safety Requirements: Please keep long hair tucked and tied back, also wear closed-toed and closed-heeled footwear for this workshop.Cancellations must be done at least 2 weeks prior to the event to receive a full refund. @ 10:00am – 1:00pm $65.00 (includes all materials). This class is on December 17th. No needles needed!Using luxuriously soft yarn, you will learn to knit a cozy scarf with your fingers. No needles and no knitting experience necessary! Have some fun with us and take home a finished scarf at the end of class to either give as a gift of keep for yourself! @ 2:00pm – 4:00pm $75.00  (Includes all materials and firing costs) This class is on December 17th. Whether you are an experienced glass fuser or have never heard of fused glass, this workshop is a great opportunity to have fun with a group of people making fused glass pocket hearts. Cost includes 2 hours of instruction, glass and supplies to complete 3 original pocket hearts. Projects will be ready for pickup at the OTAS front desk on the Monday after the workshop. December 18th $100.00 (includes all materials) Classic first project for those curious about glassblowing techniques. This workshop requires no previous experience. Students will pick out colors and blow their own glass ornament using traditional glassblowing techniques under the instruction of Jason and Nicole McQuaid who have over 35 years of experience.
