Students will get to explore the various capabilities of the slab roller\, extruder\, and numerous hand tools\, all of which provide an excellent foundation for the art of sculpture and pottery wheel. \nNo previous experience required. Rather than focusing on realism\, we’ll explore stylized and expressive forms — encouraging creative interpretation and personal flair. Whether you’re brand new to sculpture or just curious to try something different\, this class will guide you through proportion\, structure\, and features in a supportive and engaging environment. Each student will complete one head sculpture over the course of the class. \nNo prior sculpting experience needed! This class is for adults. \nFiring & Finishing Information: Sculptures created in this class will not be ready to glaze by the final day of class. Clay must dry slowly and thoroughly before it can be safely fired in the kiln. This drying and firing process takes approximately two weeks. Once your piece has been bisque fired\, you’ll have the opportunity to return during open studio or a separate session to apply glaze and complete your sculpture. DESCRIPTION:Nathan James Band with Special Guest Victor Puertas\nOctober 9\, 2025 @ 6:00 – 7:30 pm\nAn evening of original blues and roots music by the Nathan James Band featuring special guest from Barcelona\, Spain\, Victor Puertas on Hammond Organ\, harmonica\, and vocals. \nNathan James is a well-known and respected roots and blues guitarist\, vocalist\, and songwriter based in the San Jacinto Mountains\, CA. Immersing himself in the blues as a teenager\, he joined blues legend James Harman’s band at just 19 and toured the USA before starting his solo career. Nathan’s original sound blends traditions from piedmont and delta blues to rhythm & blues\, soul\, and country. Alongside his own band and solo work\, he has backed harmonica greats like Kim Wilson and Rod Piazza\, recorded on the Grammy-nominated A Tribute to Little Walter\, and has released 11 albums with both original music as well as covers\, all while touring extensively in the USA\, Canada\, Europe\, and South America. \nVictor Puertas\, one of the most in-demand blues musicians in Europe\, is a multi-instrumentalist on Hammond organ\, piano\, harmonica\, vocals\, and more. Often seen performing with his brother as the Suitcase Brothers—winners of second place at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis—Victor also gives harmonica masterclasses across Europe and is endorsed by Hohner. He and Nathan first met at the Barcelona Blues Fest in 2011\, quickly bonding over their shared love of traditional blues. Students will pick out colors and create their own glass vessel using traditional techniques under the instruction of Jason and Nicole McQuaid who have over 35 years of experience in glassblowing. DESCRIPTION:@ 10:00am – 12:00pm\n$85.00 (includes all materials). This class is on October 28. \nAcrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners\, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire.  \nStudents will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours (one 8×8 and one 12×12). Students will learn to use a dip pen and ink to create elegant thick and thin strokes and to form classic Roman letterforms—the foundation for many alphabets. \n\nWe’ll explore angles\, proportions\, and spacing to build strong lettering skills\, while also looking at the history of calligraphy\, from early writings to today’s contemporary styles.
