Join other artists as we explore the concepts of expressing the feeling of a subject and how NOT to paint “in the lines”. Learn to paint free, loose and FUN! Dave will share his philosophy, techniques, and theory of this expressive medium. We will work on landscape, seascape and cityscape. Acrylic Pour Workshop – Adult

@ 10:00am – 12:00pm $85.00 (includes all materials). This class is on September 16. Acrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours (one 8x8 and one 12x12). Due to drying time and spray varnishing each piece, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday after the workshop. Eco Scarves Workshop – Adult

This class combines using natural botanicals and a mordant to create beautiful, wearable works of art inspired by nature! Ecoprinting is a process where plant materials are placed on specially treated fabric and then steamed to release the tanin in the plants, leaving realistic prints of the plants on the fabric. You will get hands-on classroom instruction in how to make these uniquely dyed scarves perfect for wearing or gifting. During the steaming process, you will make a bonus item Felted Soap as a supplemental mini project! Please feel free to bring a lunch/snack to enjoy. All skill levels are welcome! Experience various sensory related toys and activities! Young artists can enjoy the process, while making their own creations to take home! Activities are designed for children aged birth to 5 years. If bringing older siblings to class, please note that activities are designated for the little ones only and participation is limited to children 5 and under. Workshop Facilitator: Helen Shafton, a retired elementary art teacher, specializing in providing authentic art experiences for children with all abilities.
