  • Handbuilding I: The Fundamentals – Adult – Tuesdays

Session 1: September 2, 9, 16 & 23 Session 2: September 30, October 7, 14 & 21 Session 3: October 28, November 4, 11 & 18 Session 4: November 25, December 2, 9 & 16 Handbuilding I is an introductory ceramics class in which you learn all about techniques and tools. Students will be creating, by hand, functional pieces from start to finish with the guidance of an instructor. Learning to build with tools in the studio other than the wheel is key to understanding the art of clay. Students will get to explore the various capabilities of the slab roller, extruder, and numerous hand tools, all of which provide an excellent foundation for the art of sculpture and pottery wheel.   • Fused Glass I: The Fundamentals – Adult – Tuesday AM

Session 1: September 2, 9, 16 & 23 Session 2: September 30, October 7, 14 & 21 Session 3: October 28, November 4, 11 & 18 Session 4: November 25, December 2, 9 & 16 Fused Glass I is an introductory level class in which students will learn safety and basic fusing concepts, such as how to cut, shape and assemble your glass piece. In addition you will learn about glass behavior in the kiln. With a special focus on 4 specific projects to sharpen your skills - the first steps toward more advanced projects! No previous experience required. This class is for adults. Class size is limited to 10.                              Instructor: Angel Cunningham Plans changed?   • The Art of Coiling – Adult – Tuesdays

Session 1: September 2, 9, 16 & 23 Session 2: September 30, October 7, 14 & 21 Session 3: October 28, November 4, 11 & 18 Session 4: November 25, December 2, 9 & 16 Coiling is one of the oldest methods of constructing with clay, learn how ancient civilizations utilized this technique to their advantage! This class aims to provide an understanding of how to work and use coils effectively in different ways. From building functional objects to sculptural structures. Students can expect to complete 3 different projects during the class. Completion of Handbuilding I is recommended. This class is for adults.
