This intermediate class builds directly on the skills learned in Beginning Acoustic Guitar 1, expanding students’ confidence with chord transitions, rhythm, and timing while introducing single-note picking and simple lead guitar licks. Students will learn how to play full songs from start to finish, explore basic music theory such as keys and common chord progressions, and begin using pentatonic scales to add lead parts and fills. This class is designed for players who know basic open chords and are ready to sound more musical, expressive, and confident on the guitar.
Instructor: Jonathan Carpenter
Students are encouraged to bring their own acoustic guitar. For those who do not have one, guitar rentals are available for $150 for the four-week session. Once the guitar is returned in good condition, $100 will be refunded.
