  • Ceramics I – Adult – Tuesdays

Session 1: April 22, 29, May 6 & 13Session 2: May 20, 27, June 3 & 10Session 3: June 17, 24, July 1 & 8Session 4: July 15, 22, 29 & August 5 Ceramics I is an introductory handbuilding class in which you learn all about techniques and tools. Students will be creating, by hand, functional ceramic pieces from start to finish with the guidance of an instructor. Learning to build with tools in the studio other than the wheel is key to understanding the art of clay. Students will get to explore the various capabilities of the slab roller, extruder, and numerous hand tools, all of which provide an excellent foundation for the art of sculpture and pottery wheel. No previous experience required.   • Fused Glass I – Adult – Tuesdays

Session 1: April 22, 29, May 6 & 13 Session 2: May 20, 27, June 3 & 10 Session 3: June 17, 24, July 1 & 8 Session 4: July 15, 22, 29 & August 5 Fused Glass I is an introductory level class in which students will learn safety and basic fusing concepts, such as how to cut, shape and assemble your glass piece. In addition you will learn about glass behavior in the kiln. With a special focus on 4 specific projects to sharpen your skills - the first steps toward more advanced projects! No previous experience required. Session 1: April 22, 29, May 6 & 13 Session 2: May 20, 27, June 3 & 10 Session 3: June 17, 24, July 1 & 8 Session 4: July 15, 22, 29 & August 5 Coiling is one of the oldest methods of constructing with clay, learn how ancient civilizations utilized this technique to their advantage! This class aims to provide an understanding of how to work and use coils effectively in different ways. From building functional objects to sculptural structures. Students can expect to complete 3 different projects during the class. Must have taken ceramics 1.
