This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours (one 8x8 and one 12x12). Due to drying time and spray varnishing each piece, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday after the workshop. This class combines using natural botanicals and a mordant to create beautiful, wearable works of art inspired by nature! Ecoprinting is a process where plant materials are placed on specially treated fabric and then steamed to release the tanin in the plants, leaving realistic prints of the plants on the fabric. You will get hands-on classroom instruction in how to make these uniquely dyed scarves perfect for wearing or gifting.
