In addition you will learn about glass behavior in the kiln. With a special focus on 4 specific projects to sharpen your skills - the first steps toward more advanced projects! You will become familiar with the concept of creating art (not copying nature). We will review the basic principles needed to create watercolor art and share ideas and tricks of the trade with each other. This class is tailored for beginning adult students. We encourage students to bring in their inspiration photos and create their own one-of-a-kind pieces, on average a student will complete up to 3 projects during this 4 week class. @ 1:30pm – 4:00pm $185 for 4 week session. Includes all materials. Session 1: October 28, November 4, 11, & 18 Discover the art of beautiful writing in this 4-week introductory calligraphy course. Students will learn to use a dip pen and ink to create elegant thick and thin strokes and to form classic Roman letterforms—the foundation for many alphabets. We’ll explore angles, proportions, and spacing to build strong lettering skills, while also looking at the history of calligraphy, from early writings to today’s contemporary styles. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation and a deeper appreciation for the wide world of calligraphy. No previous experience required. This class is for adults.
