Born and raised in Japan, Toko Ousdahl moved to the United States in 1980, and then to Coachelle Valley in 2008. She is a former university professor who dedicated herself to painting once her family was grown. She describes her approach to her artwork as “enthusiastic yet humble”. Her work is inspired by her commitment to self-realization and is reflective of her desire to share her feelings of happiness, peace, and strength in the world.
