Acrylic Pour Workshop – Adult

Tuesday 10:00am – 12:00pm $75.00 (includes all materials). This class is on March 19 Acrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. Beginning Glass Blowing Workshop – Adult

Wednesday, March 20th $150.00 (includes all materials) Classic first project for those curious about glassblowing techniques. This workshop requires no previous experience. Students will pick out colors and create their own glass vessel using traditional techniques under the instruction of Jason and Nicole McQuaid who have over 35 years of experience in glassblowing. Beginning Needle Felting Workshop – Adult

Selecting, preparing, and tasting beef. Demo by Chef Justin Snyder, Michelin trained in both savory and pastry and a proud honor graduate of the world famous E.N.S.P pastry school owned by Alain Ducasse in Yssingeaux, France. Sgraffito Workshop – Adult

Tuesday  10:30am – 2:30pm $85.00 (includes materials and firing costs). This class is on April 23rd. Jump into the exciting world of creative surface decoration and self-expression in this fun one day workshop on Sgraffito. Sgraffito (Italian for “to scratch”) is a decorating technique used on leather hard pottery, produced by applying layers of colors using underglazes or slips and then scratching off parts of the layers to create images, patterns and texture. Students will be looking at examples of sgraffito pottery from the ancient to modern. Students will also be learning different methods for transferring images onto clay and experimenting with different tools while creating one of a kind tiles. This workshop is for those with a basic knowledge of ceramics who want to delve a little deeper into surface decoration. Please bring a lunch/snack, as there will be a break allowing for drying time.
