Founded by Gary Moline in 2001 with just 17 members, the band has grown steadily both in membership and concert attendance. Now in its 23rd season, the Band has grown to over 110 members who enjoy rehearsing, performing, and meeting new friends during our September through May season. A fabulous mix of Palm Springs diversity, the band has members who were former professional musicians, as well as those who picked up their instruments again in retirement, young and old (age range 15 to 86), gay and straight, valley residents and seasonal visitors. Fred Benedetti April 10, 2025 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm Fred Benedetti began studies of classical guitar at the age of 16 and by age 26 was one of 12 guitarists worldwide to perform in one of the last masterclasses of Maestro Andres Segovia. Fred has performed in the United States, England, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, Taiwan and Mexico and locally with the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Opera, the Starlight Opera, the American Ballet Company, the Old Globe Theatre, Luciano Pavarotti, and jazz artist Dave Brubeck.   Because of his ability to play a variety of musical styles, Fred has shared the  stage with Mason Williams, Eric Johnson, Doc Watson, Albert Lee,  Art Garfunkel, and has recorded with Willie Nelson,  Juice Newton, Paul Overstreet, Patty Loveless, and  William Lee Golden.
