Transparent Watercolor – Adult

Advanced level artists are also welcomed. You will learn and practice basic techniques of transparent watercolor. You will become familiar with the concept of creating art (not copying nature). We will review the basic principles to creating good art and share ideas and tricks of the trade with each other. A suggested list of supplies will be provided. Glass Mosaic – Adult

Thursdays 1:30pm – 4:00pm $180 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and supplies. This class is on June 20, 27, July 11 & 18 (No class on July 4) Learn to create your own glass mosaic critter or picture in this super fun and relaxing class. These pieces are perfect for your wall indoors or out. You will learn all the steps needed to create your piece from start to finish including designing your piece, color choices, cutting glass, gluing and grouting. You will create your own glass mosaic on a pre-cut wood board. Choose from a variety of wood shapes to make your own. Possible shapes include circles, squares, hearts, butterflies, palm trees, flowers and more. Explore the art of throwing clay on the pottery wheel as you learn to craft one-of-a-kind pieces from start to finish. Students will learn the basics and beyond, including clay preparation, proper body positioning, centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and glazing. No previous experience required. Class size is limited to 10.                       Instructor: Colby Cramer Classes include materials, firing costs, and 2 hrs. weekly studio time designed to help students complete work between classes. Week 3: June 24 - 28 Looking for a fun way to beat the heat? Join us for Summer Art Camp at Old Town Artisan Studios! This week-long camp offers students the chance to work with a wide variety of mediums, such as ceramics, fused glass, watercolor, acrylic painting, sewing, and more. Multiple, week-long sessions will be offered throughout the summer. Each session takes place Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Each day, students will have 2 classes with an hour lunch break in between. We hope to see you there! Lunch break from 12:15 to 1:15 (students must provide their own lunch & bottled water) There will be a maximum of 10 students allowed per age group.  $275 per weekly session All materials and art supplies are included in the price. Students will create new projects each session. Classes and art projects are subject to change. Financial assistance and student sponsorships available. Apply here. Fused Glass II – Adult (Mondays)

Mondays 10:30am – 12:30pm $295 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs. This class is on July 8, 15, 22 & 29 Fused Glass II is designed to build on the skills learned in our introductory class. With a solid foundation of knowledge and technique, this intermediate class will spark your creativity and imagination to help you see what is possible when you begin to unlock the “artist within”. In this course students will create and design unique projects of varying size and shape. Students will learn how to incorporate different materials such as metals, enamels, and decals into their work. We encourage students to bring in their inspiration photos and create their own one-of-a-kind piece. Completion of Fused Glass 1 or instructor approval is required. Sensory Art Workshop – 5 years and under (Saturday)

Saturday 10:30am – 11:30am $5.00 (includes supplies). This class is on July 13. Have little ones under 5 years old? Help them discover colors, lines, shapes, textures and a variety of media. Experience various sensory related toys and activities! Young artists can enjoy the process, while making their own creations to take home! Activities are designed for children, age birth to 5 years. If bringing older siblings to class please be advised that the activities are designated for the littles ones only and participation will only be for the children that are 5 years and under. Workshop Facilitator: Helen Shafton, a retired elementary art teacher, specializing in providing authentic art experiences for children with all abilities. Helen has also worked with students with cognitive and motor disabilities for more than two decades. Parent must accompany their child. Ceramics I – Adult

Tuesdays 10:00am – 12:00pm  $160 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs.  The dates for this class are July 16, 23, 30 & August 6 Ceramics I is an introductory handbuilding class in which you learn all about techniques and tools. Students will be creating, by hand, functional ceramic pieces from start to finish with the guidance of an instructor. Learning to build with tools in the studio other than the wheel is key to understanding the art of clay. Students will get to explore the various capabilities of the slab roller, extruder, and numerous hand tools, all of which provide an excellent foundation for the art of sculpture and pottery wheel. No previous experience required.
