Bob Hamilton & Jeremie Levi Samson - A Little Bit of EverythingJanuary 11, 2024 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm Sponsored by Victory & Richard GrundJeremie Levi Samson was born in Paris into a family of professional musicians. He began playing the piano at the age of two, having been taught by his mother and grandmother, both being professional pianists. But it was during the occasional encounters with his violinist uncle that brought him to his instrument of choice - the violin, which he began learning from the age of 7. He went on to attend the Conservatory of Saint-Maur and the Lille Conservatory where he won awards and graduated with honors, having trained under musical greats such as Wacheux Bernard, Julien Vanhoutte and Radu Blidar. After two years of studying Jazz with Yves Torchinsky, Gilles Cagin, Cyril Wambergue and Jean François Canape, Jeremiah Levi-Samson created the Gypsy Jazz quintet Swingin’ Partout, with which he was twice a finalist in the International Competition of Ensemble Musiques de Paris. Acrylic Pour Workshop – Adult

Tuesday 10:00am – 12:00pm $75.00 (includes all materials). This class is on January 16 Acrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. Heart Vase Workshop – Adult

Tuesday 6:00pm – 8:00pm $75.00 (includes materials and firing costs). This class is on January 16th. Join us for a Handbuilt Heart Vase Workshop! Step by step, you will learn how to transform clay into the cutest heart shaped vase. Each participant will make one double sided vase. After it is bisque fired, the instructor can glaze it one color of your choice OR you can come back and glaze it with our vibrant underglazes in the Paint Your Own Pottery studio. Sensory Art Workshop – 5 years and under (Saturday)

Saturday 10:30am – 11:30am $5.00 (includes supplies). This class is on January 20 Have little ones under 5 years old? Help them discover colors, lines, shapes, textures and a variety of media. Experience various sensory related toys and activities! Young artists can enjoy the process, while making their own creations to take home! Activities are designed for children, age birth to 5 years. If bringing older siblings to class please be advised that the activities are designated for the littles ones only and participation will only be for the children that are 5 years and under. Workshop Facilitator: Helen Shafton, a retired elementary art teacher, specializing in providing authentic art experiences for children with all abilities. Helen has also worked with students with cognitive and motor disabilities for more than two decades. Parent must accompany their child. In this 3-day workshop you will finally create that abstract masterpiece painting you have always wanted to paint, you know the one!!! There will be some basic supplies at the studio, plus tables and easels. Items you will need to bring to class are as followed: Any size canvas you want to work on. A photo of your inspiration piece. The colors of paint you want to use. Brushes, palette knives, and scrapers and or any items you can use to make marks. Collage paper if you want. Comfortable shoes and painting clothes are a must. Beginners, intermediates and advanced students welcome. This class is on January 23 Create a wearable art silk scarf blended with wool roving and embellishments, while learning the introductory processes of felting in this 3-hour workshop. Nuno Felting is a process of blending natural fibers such as silk and wool using water, heat and friction. Bring your creativity - no sewing or knitting required! Please bring a snack if you wish! Ceramics I – Adult

Tuesdays 10:00am – 12:00pm  $160 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs.  The dates for this class are January 30, February 6, 13 & 20 Ceramics I is an introductory handbuilding class in which you learn all about techniques and tools. Students will be creating, by hand, functional ceramic pieces from start to finish with the guidance of an instructor. Learning to build with tools in the studio other than the wheel is key to understanding the art of clay. Students will get to explore the various capabilities of the slab roller, extruder, and numerous hand tools, all of which provide an excellent foundation for the art of sculpture and pottery wheel. No previous experience required. Class size is limited to 10.                                  Instructor: Colby Cramer Classes include materials, firing costs, and 2 hrs. weekly studio time designed to help students complete work between classes. Fused Glass I – Adult

Tuesdays 10:30am – 12:30pm $200 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs. This class is on January 30, February 6, 13 & 20 Fused Glass I is an introductory level class in which students will learn safety and basic fusing concepts such as how glass behaves at different temperatures in a kiln, cutting and shaping sheet glass, and the various types of glass that are available to the kiln glass artist. We will focus initially on arranging glass for flat fusing―the first step towards many more advanced techniques, including bowl making. Students will work on specific projects designed by the instructor to master each of the basic skills. No previous experience required.
