The Art of Music: The E&J Movement

The Art of Music: The E&J Movement

The E&J Movement – MoTown Love Songs
February 8, 2024 @ 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Sponsored by Brad Gillis

Experience an Evening of Motown, Rhythm & Blues, and Smooth Jazz! The E&J Movement provides a history of “The Music for Young America” as Berry Gordy, the founder of the Motown Record Label, called it. As The E&J Movement performs Motown classics, the band’s founder, Eddie Gilreath, provides an auditory of what it was like to record in Studio B, working with Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Little Stevie Wonder, Mary Wells, and other recording stars at that time. Mr. Gilreath worked with Mr. Gordy and toured with Jr. Walker and The All Stars. The majority of the band’s members were recording musicians at that time as well. E&J’s female vocalists were former Raelettes with Ray Charles and The Ray Charles Orchestra. The E&J Movement delivers a high quality show of pristine Motown Music along with elaborating on the creative skill and imagination Mr. Berry had to create music for that generation and generations to come with his Motown Music.
