Mondays 10:30am – 12:30pm $295 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs. This class is on May 6, 13, 20 & June 3* *(No Class on May 27th) Fused Glass II is designed to build on the skills learned in our introductory class. With a solid foundation of knowledge and technique, this intermediate class will spark your creativity and imagination to help you see what is possible when you begin to unlock the “artist within”. In this course students will create and design unique projects of varying size and shape. Students will learn how to incorporate different materials such as metals, enamels, and decals into their work. We encourage students to bring in their inspiration photos and create their own one-of-a-kind piece. Completion of Fused Glass 1 or instructor approval is required. Tuesdays 10:30am – 12:30pm $200 for 4 week session. Includes all materials and firing costs. This class is on May 21, 28, June 4 & 11 Fused Glass I is an introductory level class in which students will learn safety and basic fusing concepts such as how glass behaves at different temperatures in a kiln, cutting and shaping sheet glass, and the various types of glass that are available to the kiln glass artist. We will focus initially on arranging glass for flat fusing―the first step towards many more advanced techniques, including bowl making. Students will work on specific projects designed by the instructor to master each of the basic skills. No previous experience required.. Thursdays 10:00am – 12:30pm $155 for 4 week session - student provides art materials and supplies Studio to supply art materials for an additional $75 fee This class is on May 23, 30, June 6 & 13 This class is tailored for beginning to intermediate students with some drawing skills. Advanced level artists are also welcomed. You will learn and practice basic techniques of transparent watercolor. You will become familiar with the concept of creating art (not copying nature). We will review the basic principles to creating good art and share ideas and tricks of the trade with each other. A suggested list of supplies will be provided. Thursdays 1:30pm – 4:00pm $155 for 4 week session - student provides art materials and supplies. This class is on May 23, 30, June 6 & 13 For those with basic watercolor experience who would like to join other artists as we explore the concepts of expressing the feeling of a subject and how NOT to paint "in the lines". Learn to paint free, loose and FUN! Dave will share his philosophy, techniques and theory of this expressive medium. We will work on landscape, seascape and cityscape. Our own paintings will be based on "how we see it" by interpreting nature, not copying it. Basic design fundamentals will be stressed. Some watercolor and drawing experience is recommended. This class is on May 23, 30, June 6 & 13 Learn to create your own glass mosaic critter or picture in this super fun and relaxing class. These pieces are perfect for your wall indoors or out. You will learn all the steps needed to create your piece from start to finish including designing your piece, color choices, cutting glass, gluing and grouting. You will create your own glass mosaic on a pre-cut wood board. Choose from a variety of wood shapes to make your own. Possible shapes include circles, squares, hearts, butterflies, palm trees, flowers and more.
