This class is on January 9 In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of shibori-inspired folding and binding techniques to create beautiful patterns on fabric with indigo dye. You will get to make one scarf (cotton) and one tote bag (cotton). You will be amazed as the stunning one of a kind patterns are unfolded and revealed. Tuesday 10:00am – 12:00pm $75.00 (includes all materials). This class is on January 16 Acrylic Pour is a fluid painting technique using acrylic paint to create marvelous works of art! This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. Step by step, you will learn how to transform clay into the cutest heart shaped vase. Each participant will make one double sided vase. After it is bisque fired, the instructor can glaze it one color of your choice OR you can come back and glaze it with our vibrant underglazes in the Paint Your Own Pottery studio. Saturday 10:30am – 11:30am $5.00 (includes supplies). This class is on January 20 Have little ones under 5 years old? Help them discover colors, lines, shapes, textures and a variety of media. Experience various sensory related toys and activities! Young artists can enjoy the process, while making their own creations to take home! Activities are designed for children, age birth to 5 years. If bringing older siblings to class please be advised that the activities are designated for the littles ones only and participation will only be for the children that are 5 years and under. Workshop Facilitator: Helen Shafton, a retired elementary art teacher, specializing in providing authentic art experiences for children with all abilities. In this 3-day workshop you will finally create that abstract masterpiece painting you have always wanted to paint, you know the one!!! There will be some basic supplies at the studio, plus tables and easels. Items you will need to bring to class are as followed: Any size canvas you want to work on. A photo of your inspiration piece. The colors of paint you want to use. Brushes, palette knives, and scrapers and or any items you can use to make marks. Collage paper if you want. Comfortable shoes and painting clothes are a must. Beginners, intermediates and advanced students welcome.
