This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. If bringing older siblings to class please be advised that the activities are designated for the littles ones only and participation will only be for the children that are 5 years and under. Wet felting is the process by which wool, warm water, soap and agitation are used to create a non-woven felted fabric. Join us as we explore the possibilities of wet felting techniques and create a one of a kind vessel to take home. Please keep in mind that felting can be repetitive and labor intensive. In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of shibori-inspired folding and binding techniques to create beautiful patterns on fabric with indigo dye. You will get to make one scarf (cotton) and one tote bag (cotton). You will be amazed as the stunning one of a kind patterns are unfolded and revealed.
