This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Due to drying time, student work will be available for pickup on the Saturday following the workshop. Create a wearable art silk scarf blended with wool roving and embellishments, while learning the introductory processes of felting in this 3-hour workshop. Saturday Workshop - Successful Glazing Successful Glazing is an informative workshop aimed to improve glazing skills and results. Students will learn about glaze properties, various methods of application, and techniques to expand their creative language. Glaze defects, touch ups, and finishing will also be discussed. Students are recommended to be familiar with basic glazing processes. Students may bring two pieces to glaze at the end, but it is not required. Open for beginners and advanced students alike. In this workshop, students will learn how to paint the world around them, capturing the iconic bright foliage of autumn in a fun, tactile medium - soft pastels. Students will learn how to set up their pastel work space, sketch a landscape, color theory and how to apply, blend and capture a fall landscape with the wonderfully intense colors of soft pastels with a completed painting by the end of the day.
