This technique is very approachable for beginners, and yet allows one the opportunity to get as creative and complex as you desire. Students will be working on wood canvases with a gloss finish. Each student will make 2 acrylic pours, one small wood canvas for practice and a larger wood canvas to perfect your technique. Wet felting is the process by which wool, warm water, soap and agitation are used to create a non-woven felted fabric. Join us as we explore the possibilities of wet felting techniques and create a one of a kind vessel to take home. Please keep in mind that felting can be repetitive and labor intensive. In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of shibori-inspired folding and binding techniques to create beautiful patterns on fabric with indigo dye. You will get to make one scarf (cotton) and one tote bag (cotton). You will be amazed as the stunning one of a kind patterns are unfolded and revealed. Whether you are an experienced glass fuser or have never heard of fused glass, this workshop is a great opportunity to have fun with a group of people making fused glass pocket hearts. Cost includes 2 hours of instruction, glass and supplies to complete 3 original pocket hearts. Projects will be ready for pickup at the OTAS front desk on the Monday after the workshop.
